![]() Learning a language, just like any other human learning processes, is inseparable from errors. Interlingual and intralingual transfer was found to be the source underlying the most common errors. The findings suggested that writing in English as a foreign language is quite challenging for students. The findings showed that the most frequent types of errors made by the participants were: punctuation errors forming the most troublesome area, followed by spelling errors, preposition errors, article errors, wrong verb tense, wrong word form respectively. A writing difficulties questionnaire was further employed. Three essays were given to each participant to write about two to four pages using the narrative, descriptive, and compare/contrast organization. The participants were English majors in their third year of study enrolled in an advanced writing course during the first term pertinent to the academic year 2018-2019. Types of errors were categorized, and the factors that contributed to them were analyzed. An analysis of a written corpus of forty students' written essays was thoroughly conducted. Therefore, the aim has been to identify those difficulties from an error analysis standpoint and identify the sources underlying them. This study was conducted to explore and analyze the most common essay writing errors among Saudi female learners at the departments of English, Majmaa'h University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The findings presented a 150-word corpus-based dictionary and could be used as a complement of students’ textbooks as well as to assit them in acquiring vocabulary since without having sufficient vocabulary they might have barrier to learn the second language. Second, using the online tool vocabulary profiler, the sample were all selected from a corpus concordances available in the vocabulary profiler. Before the use of vocabulary profiler to determine K1, K2, and K3, uneccesarry parts such as proper noun, phonetic transcripts, numbers, Indonesian words, and pictures or illustration had to be deleted. First, the sample vocabulary items were selected from “Bahasa Inggris” textbooks. Meanwhile, the aim of this study is to design a corpus-based dictionary to assist learners to learn vocabulary in an effective way through the use of a corpus-based dictionary as well as considered as a vocabulary learning strategy to a best acquisition of a second language. This study explores the vocabulary in textbooks that are currently used for grade 7 and 9 in Indonesian Junior High School with the title “Bahasa Inggris”.
